Treats for dogs are like candies for humans; once in a while is okay and they should be totally enjoyable. Bon-Bones treats have the additional
goodness of using only natural and organic ingredients to keep your dog and the environment "well-treated".
Our family
brought home our puppy and planned to spend one summer training and raising her. Since I had some time to make home-made treats
for Ella, I used the same organic ingredients that our family eats. We believe the healthier we, our
dog and our environment can be, the better!
Since we live in an apartment building with many other
dog-owners, I began to share our treats with them. The enthusiasm was electric, and our little enterprise was launched. After
a few months testing the treats with other dogs we met at dog runs, we decided to make a go of it in a bigger way. Now we
offer home delivery and monthly subscriptions.
WHY NATURAL, ORGANIC, WHOLE
With a Bon-Bones treat, you can give your dog something tasty and healthy to eat while you show
respect for the health of our environment. Natural and organic ingredients don't have anything in or on them that nature didn't intend, and organic farming
methods don't employ chemicals that would harm the ground, water and air.
Whole ingredients are pure and minimally processed, and we use them
in our recipes as much as possible. In addition, we keep the manufacture and packaging simple to reduce the environmental
impact. The glassene bags are completely biodegradable! Our ingredients are purchased from local organic
farmers, neighborhood health food shops and our organic food cooperative.
THE FOUR BON-BONES FLAVORS
Cheese Piece is the only recipe where we use whole wheat flour and wheat germ.
Organic hard cheeses and beef reduction flavor this tasty treat that draws a lot of attention.
Carobone (meat-, corn- and wheat-free) is my personal favorite - yes, people eat these treats too
- and it's as close as dog treats will get to a typical human indulgence. Carob, coconut, hazelnut meal, rice flour, coconut
oil... The ingredients could be a cookie, but without the sugar, salt and fat that would make it less healthy.
PB&B Bone (meat- and wheat-free) uses oat flour, corn meal, amaranth and steel cut oats to carry
the rich peanut butter and banana flavor of this popular treat.
Yam Bone (gluten-free) is the newest addition to our menu - a flavorful combination
of hormone- and antibiotic-free veal reduction,
quinoa flour, yam, garlic and egg.
